COVID-19 FAQ

Sales

Q. Are you still conducting open for inspections?

A. Yes, we are! Under the latest easing of restrictions, open inspections are allowed with a maximum of 20 people, plus a minimum number of people reasonably required to facilitate the inspection, plus the occupants of the residence. All previously announced physical distancing (one person per 4 square metres and 1.5m distancing between all attendees) and hygiene protocols are still being followed.

We are also still conducting inspections via private 1:1 viewing. If you would like to arrange a private inspection, please contact the sales agent.

Q. Are you still able to provide a market appraisal for my home?

A. Yes, absolutely! Understanding your home’s value is as important as ever. Under the latest easing of restrictions, our agents are able to attend a property and provide an appraisal on your home. Depending on your preference, an appraisal is also available via online virtual or online streaming services or over the phone.

Q. How are auctions being conducted?

A. Under the latest easing of restrictions, on-site and in-room auctions are permitted to go ahead with a limit of 20 people, plus the minimum amount of people reasonably required to facilitate the auction and sale, as well as occupants of the property.

However, for some of our auctions these new arrangements will not be workable for our on-site auctions. Ray White is committed to providing an alternative safe environment in which our customers can participate in property auctions.  We have developed processes to ensure that we respect all government recommendations for such environments. We’re a proud auction business and have adapted to deliver an online auction experience like no other, accessible virtually via the comfort of your own home and hosted live by a professional auctioneer. If you would like further information on how our online auctions are conducted or are interested in registering to bid for one of our online auctions, please contact our office or the appropriate sales agent.

Property management / Leasing

Due to the ever-changing laws and amendments to the Residential Tenancies Act we are currently facing as a result of COVID 19, please see below link to the Consumer Affairs website with important information regarding both a landlord’s and tenant’s rights in the current environment.

We encourage all landlord’s to have a read through the information provided in the link below and familiarise themselves with the changes so that you remain up to date with the new legislation.

Q. Are you still conducting open for inspections?

A. Yes, we are! Under the latest easing of restrictions, Saturday open inspections (15 minute duration) are being conducted with a maximum of 20 people attending, plus the Ray White agent, and the occupants of the residence (if tenanted). Saturday Open For Inspections are open to the public, with bookings not required. If however we have hit the 20 person capacity, you may not be able to view the property on this day. All previously announced physical distancing (one person per 4 square metres and 1.5m distancing between all attendees) and hygiene protocols are still being followed.

Q. How do I apply for a rental property during COVID-19?

A. Under the current situation, we are taking applications for rental properties prior to a physical inspection of the property. Ray White Carnegie has video walkthroughs available for viewing online on the property page. Once you have viewed the video walkthrough, you can simply submit your application as normal. If your application is successful, the leasing agent can then arrange a private viewing of the property for you.

Q. How are you conducting routine inspections?

A. Under the latest easing of restrictions, we will be returning to conducting routine inspections as usual, with an agent attending the rental property.

Q. I normally come into your office to pay my rent via EFTPOS – how do I pay my rent now?

A. With the current situation, we are unable to continue accepting in-office payments (EFTPOS/credit card or cheques) for rent until further notice. As such, we have a Payment Gateway Form that you will need to complete to set up your rental payments via Direct Debit / BPAY. This form can be found on our website under the Rent tab – Carnegie Rental Forms (or email your property manager who can provide you with this). Your other option is to transfer to our temporary rental bank account. Please email your property manager if you have any questions or would like to organise rent transfer to our temporary bank account.
