Average Age of Oakleigh East Renters is ‘Under 30’

By Matt Hurlston

The average age of tenants living in Oakleigh East rental property is under 30, according to new figures compiled by the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) this week.

The data, which is based on findings from the most recent census, revealed that the average age of tenants is under 30 in many of the suburbs near universities – in addition to Oakleigh East, young tenants were also noted in Clayton, Huntingdale and Notting Hill near Monash University.

In general, there were no Victorian suburbs where the average age of tenants was over 40, but as a general rule, older tenants are often the norm in areas where the property values are higher.

This demographic information could be particularly useful for anyone considering to buy a property in Oakleigh or invest in real estate.

If you are planning to let your investment property in Oakleigh East to student tenants, Ray White Carnegie can help. Our experienced team members are passionate about property management, and we can help you to maximise your rental returns.
