Parents who own real estate in Carnegie may be encouraged to hear the Victorian coalition government's strategy for achieving world class performance in the state's education within a decade.
'From New Directions to Action: World class teaching and school leadership' was announced by Minister Responsible for the Teaching Profession Peter Hall in an October 22 media statement.
The strategy focuses on three key steps towards improving the quality of education – attracting exemplary people into teaching, building and strengthening school leadership and creating a high performance teaching profession in Victoria.
"Research has consistently shown that high performing and dynamic teachers have the greatest impact on our students' education," Mr Hall said.
"By encouraging excellence across the teaching profession, these reforms will lift the performance of Victoria's students to match the best worldwide within the next 10 years."
The coalition government's commitment to investing in teaching excellence will address the high levels of variation within student performance in the state.
Although overall Victoria boasts a strong academic record, individual students achieved diverse results depending on the school in which they were enrolled.
