Could a new home in Bentleigh be on your horizon?

By Matt Hurlston

The strength of Victoria's housing construction industry is anticipated to reach a peak in the coming months, which could present investment options for new real estate in Bentleigh

In the latest Housing Industry Association Outlook Report, executive director for Victoria Gil King outlined there were a projected 59,805 dwelling starts anticipated for 2014/15.

This represents a huge 15 per cent jump over the previous year.

"After new home building activity slowed in 2013, activity rebounded in 2014," said Mr King in a 18 May statement.

"There were 58,320 new homes commenced during the year which is the second highest calendar year total on record, only bettered by 2010 in when state and federal building incentives combined with low interest rates to lift the industry."

New dwelling projections are expected to begin declining in the coming years, moving towards more sustainable levels of development. Now could present a wonderful time to consider your own investment opportunities.
