Delectable Treats in Malvern East

By Matt Hurlston

Malvern East residents can enjoy a culinary extravaganza organised for later this month.

The suburb falls in the City of Stonnington locale and on March 15 the council is putting on the Flavours festival to celebrate its culturally diverse community, notes a February 27 media release.

For those living in Malvern East real estate, March 15 could be the perfect opportunity to sample some exquisite flavours.

The festival will be held in Prahran's Grattan Gardens, which is only around a 10-minute drive from the popular Malvern East suburb.

Masterchef finalist Samira El Khafir will prepare a lip-smacking Middle Eastern feat, while chocolatier Arno Backes will run a macaron-making demonstration that's sure to delight young and old.

A demonstration stage will be set up offering a cooking class for children, too!

However, it's not just food that's being celebrated.

Music, children's activities and dancing will also be on offer, with the festival running from 11 am until 4 pm.

From reggae beats to smooth Latin sounds, the atmosphere is sure to be lively.

Head along with the family with an empty stomach – there will be plenty of market stalls offering a sumptuous selection of food embracing a range of world flavours.
