Kindergarten Participation Improves in Victoria

By Matt Hurlston

Your child's education options may be an influential factor in your decision to purchase real estate in Carnegie and with the early years being the most formative, quality kindergartens and preschools are an important feature in a suburb.

Kindergarten attendance has been proven to improve performance in later years at school, according to research from the Victorian coalition government and the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economics and Social Research.

Fortunately Victoria's early childhood education is a strong choice for families living in Carnegie real estate.

The government has invested more than $100 million towards improving kindergartens across the state and recent figures show participation rates have reached a record high.

Kindergarten enrolments reached 72,942 this year, which is a 98.2 per cent participation rate.

"These results are a credit to early years services across Victoria – and their dedicated staff – as well as Victorian parents who are increasingly becoming more aware of the very real benefits that a high-quality kindergarten program can bring," Minister for Children and Early Childhood Development Wendy Lovell said in a December 16 media release.
