Property buyers take various criteria into account when searching for their new home, and access to arts and culture could well appear on the wish list. That's because the latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) show that in 2013-14, as much as 27 per cent of the population was involved in some sort of cultural activity.
"Women were more likely than men to participate in textile crafts, jewellery making, paper crafts or wood craft and in sculpting, painting, drawing or cartooning," revealed Gary Niedorfer from the ABS.
Men, on the other hand, were more drawn towards digital activities such as designing software and websites.
There's been no change in the cultural participation rate since 2010-11, showing that Australians are just as keen to pursue their interests during their leisure time. This could be something they want to think carefully about when choosing property in Carnegie.
