Matt Hurlston of Ray White Carnegie: Auction markets nationwide improve over March

By Matt Hurlston

If you're looking into selling your Bentleigh real estate at some point in the near future, it could be worth considering pursuing an auction. Recent figures from the CoreLogic RP Data blog have highlighted the improving strength of this sales method across Australia's capital cities as more auctions begin popping up nationwide.

For the week ending 15 March, Melbourne alone was expected to see 1,149 properties go under the hammer. This beats out the 1,085 auctions seen during the same week last year, with around 3 out of every 4 homes anticipated to see a successful sale.

CoreLogic RP Data head of research Tim Lawless also said in the latest CoreLogic RP Data Home Value Index that clearance rates have surged to the highest levels seen since 2009, with low mortgage rates helping to encourage buyers to enter the market.

This could be encouraging for property owners in Bentleigh looking to sell their homes in the coming months, especially with Melbourne performing as one of the strongest markets nationwide.
