Matt Hurlston of Ray White Carnegie: Home building forecast strong for 2015

By Matt Hurlston

The latest Housing Industry Association (HIA) Victoria Outlook report has outlined the projected growth of the state's home building figures. This could be great news for those interested in buying their own slice of Bentleigh real estate

HIA executive director for Victoria Gil King said that 2014/15 was anticipated to be the second consecutive year of growth, with the overall level of construction activity expected to remain healthy in the coming months.

"New home building made a massive contribution to economic growth in the state last year, with particularly strong increases in new multi-unit dwelling construction," said Mr King in a 23 February statement.

"Strong new home building activity helps to contain price pressures in the housing market. A steady flow of new homes is therefore consistent with achieving better affordability outcomes."

As the supply increases and the overarching price of property stabilises, now could be a great time to consider purchasing property in Victoria.
