Matt Hurlston of Ray White Carnegie: Master plan revealed for Queen Victoria Market Precinct renewal

By Matt Hurlston

The latest release from the City of Melbourne has outlined the master plan for the renewal of the Queen Victoria Market Precinct, which will maintain the integrity of the area's heritage while bringing the precinct into the future.

Lord mayor Robert Doyle said the space will retain the general atmosphere that residents of Melbourne have come to love, while adding in some contemporary new public spaces and retail areas.

"Depending on the scope of the projects, it is estimated that the renewal could generate 9000 new jobs at the market, 12,000 jobs in the surrounding precinct and thousands of construction jobs," said Mr Doyle in a 26 February statement.

This could be great news for owners of Bentleigh real estate looking for work in the future, as well as offering some insight into the continued commitment to infrastructure development in Melbourne.
