Matt Hurlston of Ray White Carnegie: New home sales jump during October

By Matt Hurlston

Those interested in purchasing new Bentleigh real estate should consider making moves in the coming months, with the latest Housing Industry Association (HIA) report highlighting the growth in sales for new houses across Australia during October.

These figures are a great indicator of the rising strength of the market – something that should be taken advantage of while the conditions afford it.

HIA chief economist Harley Dale said the growth of 3per cent over October was a great boost after a lack of movement in September – and a significant growth following the decline of 5.7 per cent in July.

"Sales are still off their cyclical peak reached back in April this year, but the overall volume of new home sales is still at an elevated level. That augurs well for healthy new home construction activity persisting into 2015," said Mr Dale in a 27 November statement.
