Melbourne Festival To Bring World’s Most Liveable City To Life

Melbourne is a destination renowned for its vibrant lifestyle, featuring a prestigious arts scene, fantastic shopping and dining, various family-friendly events and activities, and a broad multicultural community.

Victoria's largest city has also been recognised as a brilliant place to live, with Melbourne voted the most liveable city in the world in 2012 for the second-year running. This was based on five categories, where the city picked up perfect scores for education, healthcare and infrastructure.

If you've been looking at Carnegie real estate or nearby Murrumbeena real estate, then it may be time to boost your search and secure a home in this area.

Come October, one of Australia's flagship international arts festival will be coming to the city, bringing in tow a wonderful program of theatre, dance, music, visual arts, film and more to entertain and enthrall the whole family.

The Melbourne Festival will take place between October 11-27 with a dedicated kids weekend (October 19-20) featuring book markets, children's films and a pop-up planting stall, and music from The Cinematic Orchestra, Gurrumul and Hiatus Kaiyote to entertain the adults.

"Melbourne Festival at its heart is a celebration of this city. With this Festival program, we wanted to really explore the city and see it through different eyes; to appreciate the depth of its creative history and how this is woven into the fabric of the urban landscape," said Festival Director Josephine Ridge.

The city hosts a range of fantastic events throughout the year including the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, the Australian Open and the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
