Park party to light up your January

By Matt Hurlston

One of the things that makes living in Carnegie and Bentleigh real estate so great is the local events. From art shows to car shows and everything in between, there’s always something for everyone going on in our corner of the country.

This summer really turns the volume up to 11, with the recent announcement of the Party in the Park. It will be held on 24 January at Packer Park, and features a brand new Australian rock supergroup, filled with stars of the modern era: the Antipodean Rock ‘n’ Roll Collective, or A.R.C. It features:

  • Mark Wilson, from retro rockers Jet
  • Davey Lane, from You Am I
  • Darren Middleton, from Powderfinger

Singer-songwriter Monique Brumby and Joshua Batten, winner of Sounds of Glen Eira will also be performing at the event.

“Bring your family; friends and neighbours; a blanket and picnic; or choose from a range of delicious food vendors onsite,” reads the announcement from Glen Eira City Council. Looks like it’ll be a great evening for all!

Take a peek at Packer Park

Packer Park takes on a huge range of activities for both young and old, and exemplifies how great it is to live in Carnegie real estate. You can read under the trees, play lawn bowls or bocce, or take the kids to the expansive playground.

There’s also an excellent velodrome, giving cyclists everything they need to enjoy themselves. With all of these facilities free for use by the community, picking up a home nearby almost means you don’t need a backyard – you’ve got an excellent one right on your doorstep!

Whatever you’re after, whether it’s lush green space or proximity to a stellar summer music concert, get in touch with Matt Hurlston, from Ray White Carnegie. He’ll find you exactly what you’re looking for.
