Private Art Collectors Exhibition Opens in Glen Eira

By Matt Hurlston

Any art lovers looking for real estate in Carnegie will be happy to know the City of Glen Eira is currently hosting a major art exhibition showcasing the diversity and richness of private art collecting in the area.

‘A Private View: Art Collecting in the City of Glen Eira’ features works by international artists such as William Kentridge, Andre Kertesz, Louise Bourgeois and Philip Guston as well as a number of contemporary and indigenous Australian artists.

The collection is designed to highlight and celebrate local art collectors and allow them to share their passion for artistic expression with the wider Carnegie community.

With multiple pieces of art on display, the exhibition also aims to highlight the role of local collectors in supporting the many mediums of artworks created in this day an age – including painting, drawing, new media creations and sculpting.

This display runs from Thursday May 9 till Sunday May 26 – after being opened on Wednesday May 6 by collector Michael Kino and welcomed by Glen Eira mayor Jamie Hyams.
