Property Management Carnegie – What’s Carnegie’s most in-demand street?

The streets where renters most want to live in Carnegie

Among renters, location is everything. No matter the cost, there are some streets that just out-do others.

Realestate.com.au reveals the most popular streets across Australia for renters, with Turner Street in Blacktown, NSW the most in-demand nationally.

“People want to live in an area where they love and renting is the easiest way to do that, ” says Kul Singh, REA Group Executive Manager – Rent. “So it’s all about location, location, location.”

In fact, 52% of rental respondents in the recent Pedestrian TV and realestate.com.au survey think location is the most important consideration when choosing a rental. This is more important than the price they pay or the style of the place.

The most in-demand streets in Carnegie

1. Judith Street

2. El Nido Grove

3. Mernda Avenue

4. Tranmere Avenue

5.  Frogmore Road

6. Walnut Street

7. Byron Street

8. Woorayl Street

9. Rosstown Road

10. Woornack Road

The most in-demand streets are those with the the highest average views per listing, per day. To meet the data requirements, these streets needed to have at least five listings onsite over the three-year period.

The data looked at the most in-demand streets for renters in Australia on realestate.com.au for the three years up to 31 March 2019.

“Some of these streets have the obvious attributes renters look for – proximity to the city, public transport, parks, schools and universities. Other streets included are within the cool hipster suburbs that offer diverse shops and nightlife experiences,” Singh explains.

Given what these top streets offer, it’s unlikely they will lose popularity anytime soon.

“Renters are willing to pay more to live a lifestyle of choice and freedom, so unless we see significant increases in rental yield, some of these streets and suburbs will remain popular,” says Singh.

“However, with continual growth of international travellers to Australia, we will see new areas become popular that offer the quintessential Australian lifestyle – closer to beaches and outdoor activities. Investment in areas that offer diverse experiences, and shopping and dining options will always do well with renters too.”
