Public Holiday Will Not Affect Victoria Auctions

By Matt Hurlston

While in some years, a public holiday close to a weekend can significantly reduce the number of properties that are set to be sold at auction, this will not be the case this Saturday and Sunday (April 27 and 28).

The Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) reports that in spite of the fact Anzac Day falls on a Thursday this year, the volume of auctions expected this weekend is relatively consistent with this time of year – which means that if you are thinking about buying Carnegie real estate, now could be a good time to start looking.

According to the REIV, a total of 770 homes are going under the hammer across the state this weekend, and with clearance rates above 60 per cent in recent weeks, it is likely that the next few days will see similar results.

The REIV says it is still too early to see a pattern in terms of trends and popular suburbs, but if you are keen to buy real estate in Carnegie, the team at Ray White Carnegie can help.
