Ray White Carnegie’s Matt Hurlston: Commercial construction figures rising

By Matt Hurlston

A recent release from Master Builders Australia (MBA) offers some insight into the strength of Australia's commercial property construction sector, with these figures moving back into positive territory for the first time in five years. This could be brilliant news for anyone interested in purchasing commercial real estate in Bentleigh over the coming months.

The sector has been low since the global financial crisis, with MBA chief economist Peter Jones stating that the latest National Survey of Building and Construction shows a return to form after five years.

"For the second consecutive quarter the Survey shows improvement in the current business conditions of commercial builders while the index measuring expectations of future activity also rose sharply," said Mr Jones in a 21 October statement.

He went on to say that this growth was a result of the strengthening residential property markets emerging across the nation, with overarching economic increases resulting from Australia's upward movement.
