Ray White Carnegie’s Matt Hurlston: Glen Eira encourages light bulb switch

By Matt Hurlston

The Glen Eira local council is pushing to get people to change their current light bulbs to more energy-efficient ones in the future, which could be great news for those living in real estate in Bentleigh East

Part of the Glen Eira Energy Saving Program is about encouraging people to adopt better lighting means in their homes. An upcoming event allows households in the region to trade in their incandescent light globes, and replace them with compact fluorescent light (CFL) globes free of charge.

These CFL globes are great for the environment, as well as anticipated to last up to 10 times longer than regular light bulbs. Furthermore, they can be used both inside and outdoors, giving the opportunity to save money throughout your entire home!

Replacing just one light bulb with a CFL globe can take $23 off your annual electricity bill, so imagine the savings if you changed all the lights throughout your home.
