Ray White Carnegie’s Matt Hurlston: Home lending continues to rise

By Matt Hurlston

Properties across the nation have been performing well for some time now and latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) show plenty of new buyers are entering the market.

April data shows a rise in new home lending all over the country, although the most impressive results were seen in the number of loans granted for the construction of new houses.

Approvals were up 1.1 per cent month-on-month, which will no doubt be welcomed by builders up and down the country.

The Housing Industry Association (HIA) analysed the figures and provided its own seasonally adjusted estimates for the number of loans for new housing.

In Victoria, it believes there was a five per cent rise in loans in the three months to April, so if you're looking for real estate in Oakleigh you could find your chances are greatly improved.
