Ray White Carnegie’s Matt Hurlston: Pool safety reminder for residents of Bentleigh real estate

By Matt Hurlston

At the height of summer, there's nothing better than taking a dip in the backyard pool. But if you're a resident of Bentleigh real estate lucky enough to own a pool, keep in mind the need for safety when using it.

Glen Eira City council's manager of building and civic compliance John Bordignon recently reminded people of the potential risks involved with backyard pools, while highlighting the importance of not overlooking pool and spa safety rails to keep people safe – especially younger children.

For example, be sure that any tree branches or pot plants that can be used to climb your regulation fence are removed, in order to stop innocent mischief becoming something more serious. The need for adult supervision was also stressed – with the general rule of thumb that if the adults leave the swimming area, so should the children.

These are just some basic reminders to help keep everyone happy and safe during this hot Australian summer.
