Ray White Carnegie’s Matt Hurlston: Proposal for new park in Glen Eira

By Matt Hurlston

A new park has been proposed for the Glen Eira community, offering the local residents of Bentleigh property a new outdoor location to enjoy. This park would involve the closure of the road between Eskdale Road and Fitzgibbon Crescent, and is being developed as part of the council's Open Space Strategy.

The main focus of the park will be central seating, which will be surrounded and protected by two large trees. Furthermore, more footpaths and plants will be introduced into the area, allowing for a more natural and walk-friendly space for people to spend time.

Water sensitive urban designs and shaped lawns will also be implemented. Glen Eira city council mayor Jim Magee said the new space will help promote more walking in the neighbourhood, helping to create a more active community.

"It will also provide residents with easy access to natural space, which positively contributes to health and wellbeing," said Mr Magee in a 23 March statement.
