Ray White Carnegie’s Matt Hurlston: Save water with free showerhead installations

By Matt Hurlston

Glen Eira Council has offered households across the area the opportunity to have water-efficient showerheads installed in their home for free as a part of its Glen Eira Energy Saving Program. As an owner of real estate in Bentleigh East, this could be great news for anyone hoping to further their sustainability in the coming months.

Glen Eira mayor Jim Magee said there have been 110 showerheads installed by the end of October, but there could be a whole lot more put in to help boost the community's general energy savings.

"Water efficient showerheads use no more than nine litres of water per minute compared to standard showerheads which can use up to 20 litres of water per minute," said Mayor Magee in a 15 December statement.

This leads to an approximate saving of 52,000 litres of water per year for each household, without reducing the water pressure.
