Ray White Carnegie’s Matt Hurlston: State of the States report highlights commercial potential

By Matt Hurlston

The latest CommSec State of the States report has highlighted the growing strength of the nation's economy, with Victoria seeing large degrees of growth across a number of different economic indicators. This could be wonderful news for anyone interested in purchasing commercial real estate in Bentleigh East

For example, the population growth experienced across Victoria was the second strongest annual increase behind Western Australia, and was a whole 1.9 per cent higher than the same time last year. As more people begin to move into Melbourne, the increase in employment opportunities needs to be reflected in the local commercial property market.

Furthermore, housing finance figures also rose across the state. With a steady supply of new home construction projects being funded, there should be no shortage of real estate available for occupation over the coming months. In fact, a 15 October release from the Housing Industry Association found detached home commencements rose by 5.5 per cent over the last year.
