Start Planning Next Year’s Auction Now

By Matt Hurlston

If you are thinking about selling your slice of real estate in Carnegie via auction next year, now is the time to get planning.

It takes some time to prepare for a successful auction, so planning now could have you in good stead for a February 2014 sale.

The first step in preparation for selling your property under the hammer is to meet with your preferred estate agent.

This first meeting allows your agent advise you on how the selling process is handled and supply you with market information on property sales relevant to your suburb and home. The first meeting will also allow you to discuss expectations and desired outcome.

Next the agent will taylor a marketing plan and discuss best dates and times for your auction to maximise the selling price.

From this point, the advertising campaign will get underway. This involves listing the auction time, date and location online, in newspapers and on signage outside the property in question.

Your marketing agent will update you daily, after each inspection and meet with you weekly to discuss the progress of your auction campaign. Or communicate all correspondence with you as agreed on commencement.

Before auction day, a final meeting will confirm the reserve price, the number of bidders expected to attend, how to communicate during bidding and what will happen once the auction has completed.

If an auction is on the cards for you next year, contact Carnegie's leading Auctioneer Matthew Hurlston at Ray White Carnegie to get the preparations underway today!
