Three Times Lucky: Melbourne Retains ‘Most Liveable City’ Title

There's been no better time to consider purchasing real estate in Carnegie, with Victoria's capital city of Melbourne retaining the crown of the World's Most Liveable City.

This is the third year running that Melbourne has topped the list of most liveable locations in The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) Survey, while Vienna came in second place, followed by Vancouver.

Perfect scores were given to Melbourne for education, healthcare and infrastructure, with state Minister for Planning Matthew Guy welcoming the honour.

"Our great city has a vibrant multicultural community, a celebrated arts scene and world famous food and wine," Mr Guy said.

"The Victorian Coalition government’s major events strategy, which includes the Australian Open Tennis, the fashion festival, the flower and garden show and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival all help make Melbourne such an exciting and envied city."

He added that Victoria was a "major events state" with a calendar of prestigious events that brings visitors to the city, puts "dollars into the economy, and jobs into our businesses".

If you want to start your search for Carnegie real estate and become a resident of the world's most liveable city, get in touch with Matthew Hurlston at Ray White Carnegie.
