Time to look for eco-friendly properties?

By Matt Hurlston

Choosing that perfect real estate in Bentleigh is something that involves a lot of thought and here's something else to add to the list – sustainability.

The Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) revealed that more agents are seeing their clients ask about eco-friendly features of their potential property.

You might decide to ask about anything from rainwater tanks to solar panels, double glazing to star ratings, particularly as you start to think about the potential savings.

The REIV said agents wouldn't have bothered promoting these features in the past but as environmental issues become more important, it's not uncommon for them to appear on property ads.

The environment used to be seen as a no-go area for real estate agents but as with everything time has changed and you're likely to be more aware of what's going on in the world around you.

Figures suggest as many as a million Australian homes now have solar panels, so it definitely seems the energy efficiency message is getting through!

If you're hoping to bag an eco-friendly property in Bentleigh, why not get in touch with Matt Hurlston at Ray White Carnegie?
