By Matt Hurlston

Ensuring your children get a great education is something to keep in mind when you're looking to purchase a new home. Naturally, you'll want to take the time to check out the local schools in a community before settling into a new area.

Victoria could be the right place to fulfill your needs, as the new state government's budget outlines investment of nearly $4billion into the education and skills development industry across the region.

Minister for education James Merlino said a lot of this funding will be put towards building new schools and renovating existing properties to provide the strongest education for Victorian children.

"This major investment will give students a state-of-the-art learning environment and teachers the facilities to continue providing a world-class education," said Mr Merlino in a 13 May statement.

There are 67 schools across the state that will receive a share of $325million to undertake improvements, which could be great news for anyone interested in purchasing real estate in Bentleigh
