Upgrades to Memorial Park will be underway shortly, as the Glen Eira Council recently gave the green-light to the project. These upgrades will help make the region more diverse and inviting for the local community under the Open Space Strategy. It will also make the area more attractive for residents of Carnegie real estate.
Glen Eira Mayor Cr Neil Pilling said creating a more attractive and inviting Kooyang Road with better frontage following the installation of open grassed areas and an improved connectivity with the rest of the park was an important project to be undertaken over the coming months.
"Pathway improvements and new plantings along Dorgan Street will enhance accessibility and visibility into the space. An expanded playground area will allow for the future addition of playground equipment, which will be able to cater for a wider range of ages and abilities," said Mr Pilling in a 28 July statement.
Developments such as this one show the council cares about the city and its residents, and is constantly undergoing projects to make this region a fantastic place to live.
