Ray White Carnegie’s Matt Hurlston: New grants and sponsorships available in Melbourne

By Matt Hurlston

The City of Melbourne has opened up applications for new grants and sponsorships, with the aim of helping residents in the area get their projects up and off the ground. Whether you're hoping to start a small business or run an event, now could be a great time to consider submitting your application to the council.

There are four different types of grant available, including the social enterprise grant that offers up to $25,000, the small business grant that provides up to $30,000 – as well as $10,000 for member-based organisations or export grants – and the business events grants for events and conferences up to $10,000.

There's also the events partnership program, which has sponsorship options ranging between $10,000 and $50,000. Lord mayor Robert Doyle said these grants were created to help deliver quality events to the region.

"The City of Melbourne encourages applicants with events or initiatives that reflect creativity, inclusion, sustainability, knowledge, economic prosperity and city activation to apply," said Mr Doyle in a 27 February statement.
